Biography
Laura Meader earned her Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago, with a clinical concentration in older adult studies. She is a LICSW and WA approved clinical supervisor.
Laura began her professional career in finance before transitioning to social work, bringing a systems and policy-informed perspective to her clinical and public health work. She has practiced across diverse settings including inpatient hospital care, the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, and leadership roles in county and state public health systems. Her work has focused on substance use disorders, harm reduction, and overdose prevention through both direct care and program development.
As a clinician, Laura has extensive experience working with adults navigating substance use disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and reproductive mental health concerns. She has specialized training in evidence-based modalities including ERP, inferential CBT (I-CBT), motivational interviewing, and has particular expertise in harm reduction approaches and medication-assisted treatment.
Laura currently serves as a clinical supervisor and is the founder of Crescent Moon Therapy, where she provides psychotherapy and consultation services. Her practice focuses on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, and reproductive mental health challenges, with an emphasis on integrated, trauma-informed care.
