As we prepare to gather with loved ones to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I am grateful to be a member of this community of care, dedicated to our Jesuit values, to academic excellence, and to empowering our students to become leaders for a just and humane world. 

ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ will close on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. This is a time to honor and express our deep gratitude to all who have served and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

I am delighted to announce that Jordan Talge has been appointed Vice President and University Counsel, a role in which he will continue to provide exceptional leadership and legal guidance for ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½.

I write to share bittersweet news that I will be stepping down as President of ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ to become President at Georgetown University. My last day as your president will be at the end of winter quarter in March.

In light of President Peñalver’s announcement this morning, I want to express the Board of Trustees’ deep gratitude for Eduardo’s exceptional leadership and to share the path forward for ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½.

Today, ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ marks Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Observed on the second Monday of October, the commemoration can be traced to the 1977 International NGO Conference on Discrimination Against Indigenous Populations in the Americas.
